Blackmaker Root Beer Liqueur
CHALLENGE:
White Rock Distilleries wanted to develop a great tasting, all natural root beer liqueur brand. The challenge was to communicate a handcrafted quality product while keeping the packaging costs to a minimum.
SOLUTION:
We developed Blackmaker Root Beer Liqueur to convey a handcrafted herbal apothecary feel. The trademarked name was developed around a story of a woodsman/herbalist who developed the recipe. The copy and art enrich the story and the visual appeal of the brand. To keep costs down, we used a stock bottle but chose to die-cut the label to give it a more historical feel.
RESULTS:
Blackmaker's earthy/retro design and unique position immediately caught the attention of the trade as well as consumers. The brand was purchased by the Sazerac Company in 2012.
